The research group “Language, Teaching and Cognition” – LTC (portuguese: “Linguagem, Ensino e Cognição” – LEC) proposes to contribute in the advance of researches in language aquisition area, especially regarding scientific speech and the process of teaching and learning. The purpose of this group involves topics about cognitive sciences, discussions about the functioning of science teaching – with theoretical contributions of diverse fields of knowledge – interdisciplinarily. It likewise is concerned with studying processes of scientific language aquisition, discussing questions applied to the education context. The group is engaged with distinct guiding axis such as: information and communication technologies (ICTs), significant learning, reading aquisition, writing and orality and literacy and scientific literacy. The group also covers the different levels of education and special education, Young and Adults Education (YAE. Portuguese: “Educação de Jovens e Adultos” – EJA) and teacher training. It has partnerships with the Municipy Secretary of Education (portuguese: “Secretaria Municipal de Educação”) of Ponta Grossa, IEESA and the State University of Ponta Grossa – SUPG (portuguese: “Universidade Estadual de Ponta Grossa” – UEPG).
